DIGITAL INCLUSION

The Imcon Internet Foundation, a nonprofit arm of Imcon International Inc., is dedicated to bridging the digital divide by empowering underserved communities worldwide with equitable access to technology, digital literacy, and resilient connectivity solutions. Through its innovative Internet Backpack—a solar-powered, portable device that deploys "Pop Up Community Networks" in minutes via satellite, cellular, mesh, and IoT integrations—the Foundation delivers reliable internet to remote schools, clinics, and disaster zones where traditional infrastructure fails, supporting up to 50 users and enabling education, telemedicine, and emergency coordination.

Key digital inclusion activities include initiatives in Liberia, partnering with Syracuse University and the government to connect dozens of rural schools and health facilities with subsidized nationwide deployments; pilots on Costa Rica's isolated Isla Caballo, providing free Wi-Fi hotspots and teacher training through collaborations with Viva Idea and local foundations; and rapid-response efforts in North Carolina post-Hurricane Helene, restoring communications while donating tablets for learning continuity. By subsidizing access via public-private partnerships and philanthropic funding, the Foundation ensures free or low-cost connectivity for low-income families, indigenous groups, and crisis-affected populations, fostering long-term resilience, economic opportunity, and global participation in the digital world.
